Morocco Holidays

Oh oh, it’s definitely time to flee winter and get over to Morocco and just enjoy your Morocco holidays. Let's face it; times have been hard lately. Snow, can you believe that, Britain got snow and it totally made a mess of the countryside. It is also one of the biggest reasons that travel arrangements for holidays in Morocco have been at their highest ever. Really, who wouldn’t want to get out of Britain after being snowed in and under? One of the high points of your Morocco holidays will surely be a stay in one of the Marrakesh riads that are so popular. Just imagine the warm sand, clear, bright sunny days, delectable scents carried on every breeze, and the animated chatter coming from the local bazaars. Think, yahoo, total holiday and you’re so glad to get away.

Even if you only get to spend a couple of days in Marrakech, you will relax and unwind, especially if you choose to stay in a riad.  Riads offer comfort, solitude and privacy.  The riad’s inward focus was showcased in the central spot of most of the home’s interior gardens and courtyards. While you're in Morocco, be sure to take a tour and see that traditional riads lack large exterior windows; however, who wants a window to look out of a garden? When you enter a Marrakesh riad, you will feel you have gone back in time to a lovely reflective area, which features glittering fountains and a feeling of absolute peacefulness. Along with the air of quietude you get to experience on your Morocco holidays, you will find orange and lemon trees in the central courtyard of your Marrakech riad. The trees are most often found situated in groups of four, with beautifully decorated walls, covered with tadelakt lime plaster and lovely zellige tiles. Over the years, the styles of the Marrakesh riads have changed, but the original style continues to be one that is instantly recognizable by most people. As a matter of fact, should you choose to go on any tours during your Moroccan vacation, you should ask to be shown the various styles of riads that have been popular over the years. It’s quite exciting to see the changes, and you will also note that renovations to older, existing riads is going on at a frantic pace. It is revitalizing to see old buildings restored to their days of glory. Whether your Morocco holidays involves dining in or dining out, you will most likely spend a lot of time in Marrakech riads, simply because many of them are now hotels, restaurants, spas and even stores. There is one thing you can count on, and that is the fact that your Morocco holiday will not be an uninteresting one.
