Go To Russia And Take In The Majesty Of The Biggest Nation On The Planet

Although split into many regions, Russia is the largest country in the world by far, and for international travelers, is a fantastic location to go to experience another culture, atmosphere, and the wide span of both spread across this wide land. There are a great number of various things to discover within these borders, from the capitol city of Moscow in the West, to Siberia in the East, spanning from Europe to Asia, and everywhere in between.

If you are looking to explore the cities and attractions, and view more of the cultural aspects of Russian living, then Moscow and St. Petersburg are both fantastic places to begin with, being two of the most busy cities in the nation. In Moscow, you might visit Red Square or the Kremlin, and one of the most beautiful sites in the whole city, St. Basil's Cathedral, which is instantly recognizable, and was erected in 1555, located at the heart of the city, in the midst of Red Square itself.

The Cathedral, commissioned by Ivan the Terrible, was unique for its time, and the main structure is surrounded by ten additional towers, the last of which was erected atop the burial site of St. Basil himself, and in its entirety, the complex was intended to resemble a bonfire, with flames reaching up toward the heavens as a symbol of power. Each with rich cultural significance and colorful history to keep you and your fellow tourists extremely busy over the duration of your trip, other notable places that are worthy of seeing in Moscow include the Lenin Mausoleum, the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, and the Bolshoi Theater.

People with legal Russian visas should also travel to the former capitol, St. Petersburg, which was home to a number of Tsars in the past and serves as a cultural hotspot, and is also known as the Venice of the North, housing many museums, including the State Hermitage Museum on the shore of the River Neva, which is filled with unique items that will keep visitors entertained during their trip. To avoid missing out on many of the hidden treasures contained within, though it could take weeks to explore the entire length of the museum, full of immense wings, each with its own individual magnificence, including the Winter Palace of Peter I, you should organize your trip accordingly.

Anyone with US passports should really make the effort to visit Russia and discover all of its majesty, taking in one of the most historically active nations on the planet, and getting a glimpse at its history fist hand.
