Bridport Beaconsfield Summer Holiday Australia
After leaving Beaconsfield, you might simply drive to Bridport with Campervan Hire Sydney and stay a few days at one of Tasmania's main vacation locations. Bridport overlooks Anderson Bay and is best visited in summer. There are a selection of activities available, or you could just kick back and relax by the beach.
From a tin mining town, Bridport turned into a timber port and was relatively prosperous in the 1860's when gold was discovered close by in the area. Things went into a decrease when the gold ran out and finally Bridport took advantage of it's wonderful location as a attractive holiday spot, which features natural bushland reserves, white sandy beaches with 1 or 2 vineyards thrown in to complete the experience.
Bridport is mostly a quiet little city but things change significantly in the summer when the population triples. It is also the location of Australia's first freshwater trout farm and in reality fresh seafood including lobster and scallops is one of the best things about Bridport and may be enjoyed completely together with the regional wines. You may either catch your own, or visit some of the local easting conglomerates.
The local reserves around Bridport are attractive and the Bridport Wildflower Reserve is full of wildflowers and birds in the spring. If that isn't enough, other reserves feature stunning coastal perspectives and sandy dunes or you could prefer to go water-skiing. Bridestowe Estate Lavender Farm is also close by and will give you a savoury experience if you wanted one.
Other attractions in the area include the Barnbougle Dunes golfing course and the Flying Teapot Garden Cafe and Studio. You simply cannot leave without visiting a place with this kind of an fascinating name and you've got to travel by plane to this firm, which of course, has an airstrip all of it's own. The north Tasmanian coast has lots more going for it than you would think.
