Adventure Tourism

Volunteer projects abroad are part of the new 'Voluntourism' trend which is a sector in the fastest growing industry in the world, the travel and tourism industry. Whether you decide to volunteer in Malawi volunteering with animals or why not choice placement that is a little further off the beaten track. This type of activity is paid for by the volunteer themselves. The cost their payment covers includes flights to their destination wherever in the world that might be. It also covers the placement aspect of their project including accommodation, food and in a lot of cases the transport in the country.

Voluntourism requires the volunteer to pay for their time abroad as a package. It is debated as to why people have to pay to volunteer but unaware these costs would hit them sooner or later. Volunteers are paying for their accommodation, food and transport as well as somebody to look after them in the country. If somebody was to travel volunteer in a country they would still have to pay for all of these services themselves. This is often overlooked.

In today's climate there is no surprise as to why volunteering has taken off even more rapidly. People are struggling to find jobs and volunteering is a good option for them. Volunteering abroad gives many people another viable option to improve their CV and experience something unique and different in life. In many cases volunteering gives people a lot more self confidence and a great awareness of the world that we life in which employers look upon very positively.

Volunteering is happening all around us. Millions of people from all over the world go to many third world and developing countries to help aid the local people. There is also many other types of volunteering including that in your local community. People volunteer at big events including music and sporting events. It is something that seems to be more prevalent and popular now a day's so why don't you give it a go.
